Sam Mapp is a Philadelphia-based artist & writer. He started this series of paintings on custom-made shadow boxes in 2016, by working from dried botanical specimens mailed to him in art history books by his sister, Nora. These paintings commemorate other paintings he & his sister once collaborated on with the late artist, Terry Adkins.
