Nora Turato(b. 1991, Zagreb) is an Amsterdam-based artist whose work spans text-based installations, prints, books, and performances. Centering language as her core material, she blends found and original text into dynamic narratives shaped through her distinctive method of working in cycles known aspools. These cycles reflect contemporary cultural and linguistic shifts and are accompanied by artist books likened to annual reports.Recent solo exhibitions include the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, 2024), Kunsthalle Wien (2024), MoMA (New York, 2022), Secession (Vienna, 2021) amongst others. She has participated in group shows at MUDAM (Luxembourg, 2024), Kunsthalle Basel (2021), and others. In 2024, Turato unveiled a large-scale public work at Art on the Mart (Chicago) and previously performed at the 2023 Performa Biennial in New York.Turato is represented by Spruth Magers (Berlin, London, Los Angeles, New York); Galerie Gregor Staiger (Zurich / Milan) and LambdaLambdaLambda (Prishtina).Photo by El Hardwick
